About these terms

These are the terms on which we provide pharmacy services through this website. Switch Pharmacy is the trading name of Acura Pharma Ltd, company number 17237665, registered office 1 Stadium Place, Leicester LE4 0JS. The full regulatory picture is set out on our regulatory information page.

By using the site, completing a consultation or placing an order, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

These terms should be read alongside our privacy notice, cookie policy and complaints procedure.

Who can use Switch

You must be at least 18 years old, ordinarily resident in the United Kingdom, and registered with a UK general practice (or willing to tell us why you are not) to use Switch’s prescribing service. The consultation will check this and will not let you continue if you do not meet the criteria.

We supply medicines only to addresses in the United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland). We do not supply medicines internationally.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your account details accurate and up to date, and for keeping your login secure. Tell us promptly if you think someone has accessed your account without permission. Do not let anyone else use your account — medicines prescribed against your record are prescribed only for you.

Where you give us a phone number or email address, we will use it to contact you about your consultation, prescription, delivery, and (when relevant) safety updates about a medicine you have been supplied.

The consultation

The consultation is a structured set of questions about you, your health, and the treatment you are interested in. You must answer honestly and to the best of your knowledge. Giving inaccurate information — including about your age, your weight, medicines you take, or your medical history — can put you at serious risk. The prescriber is entitled to refuse to prescribe where they consider the information unreliable.

Completing a consultation does not create a contract for the supply of medicine. A contract is formed only when a UK-registered prescriber has reviewed your consultation, decided to prescribe, and dispensing has begun. Until that point we may decline at any time.

Prescribing decisions

Every prescribing decision is taken individually, on the clinical merits, by a UK-registered independent prescriber whose name is recorded against the decision. The prescriber may:

  • Prescribe the medicine you have asked for, at the dose you have asked for.
  • Prescribe a different medicine or a different dose where they consider it more appropriate.
  • Ask you for more information before deciding.
  • Ask to contact your GP before deciding.
  • Decline to prescribe. If they decline, they will tell you why and suggest where else to get help.

You will not be charged for a medicine that is not prescribed. Where you have already paid and the prescriber declines, we will refund the full amount within 5 working days.

Prices & payment

Prices are displayed on each treatment page and are confirmed in the order summary before you pay. Prices include VAT where applicable and include standard delivery unless we say otherwise. The prescriber’s fee is included in the price of the medicine.

Payment is taken at the point of order by debit or credit card, processed by our payment provider. We do not store your full card number. If the prescriber declines, we refund automatically to the same card within 5 working days.

We try to keep prices accurate. If a price displayed is obviously wrong — for example a clear typographical error — we may cancel the order and refund you in full.

Delivery

Once a prescriber has approved your treatment and the dispensary has prepared it, your medicine is dispatched from our registered pharmacy at 1 Stadium Place, Leicester LE4 0JS. We use a tracked courier service. We will tell you when your parcel is on the way and provide a tracking link.

You (or someone old enough to receive on your behalf at the delivery address) must be available to take delivery. For some medicines an adult signature is required. If a delivery cannot be made we will follow the courier’s redelivery process; medicines that cannot be delivered after three attempts are returned to the pharmacy and we will contact you.

Risk in the medicine passes to you on successful delivery. Title in the medicine remains with us until we have received payment in full.

Returns & refunds

Medicines cannot be returned for re-supply. Once a medicine has left the pharmacy we cannot accept it back into stock, even if the seal is intact. This is for patient safety: we cannot verify storage conditions outside the pharmacy. This reflects regulation 28(3)(b) of the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, which removes the right to cancel for sealed goods unsuitable for return for health-protection reasons once unsealed, and is reinforced by GPhC guidance.

That said, we will always do the right thing where something has gone wrong:

  • Wrong item supplied: we will collect, replace and refund any extra cost — contact us within 7 days.
  • Damaged in transit: we will replace at no cost — contact us within 7 days, ideally with a photo.
  • Defective product: please stop using the medicine, contact us, and we will replace and report to the MHRA Yellow Card scheme.
  • Change of mind before dispatch: if you ask to cancel before your medicine has been packed and dispatched, we will cancel and refund in full.

Unwanted, expired or part-used medicines should never be put in the bin or flushed. Return them to any community pharmacy — including ours — for safe disposal.

Continuity of supply

Some medicines are subject to national supply pressures from time to time. Where we cannot fulfil an order in a reasonable time we will tell you, refund the full amount, and, where clinically appropriate, the prescriber may suggest an alternative.

Switch is a private pharmacy. We cannot guarantee an indefinite supply of any medicine, and you should not become reliant on a single supplier. If you stop using Switch, your treatment should ideally continue under your NHS GP or another pharmacy.

Reporting safety issues

If you experience a side effect, please report it to us at hello@switchpharmacy.co.uk and via the MHRA Yellow Card scheme at yellowcard.mhra.gov.uk. More detail is in our patient safety policy.

If you have a serious allergic reaction, severe chest pain, sudden severe headache, vision loss, or any other emergency symptom — call NHS 111 immediately. Do not wait to contact us.

Site content

The content of this site (text, design, code, photography) is owned by Acura Pharma Ltd or licensed to us. You may view it on your device and print a copy for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, republish, scrape, or resell any part of this site without our written permission.

Medicine images and brand names are the trade marks of their respective owners and are used here only to identify products we are licensed to dispense.

Our liability

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be limited by English law — including liability under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 for goods of unsatisfactory quality.

Subject to that, we are not liable to you for losses that are not a foreseeable consequence of our breach — for example, lost profits, lost business, or losses that flow from your decision to share information with us that turned out to be inaccurate.

Changes to these terms

We may change these terms from time to time. The version number and the “last updated” date at the top of this page will always reflect the current version. We will tell you if a change is material before it takes effect.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be resolved by the courts of England and Wales, save that you retain any non-excludable rights to bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the UK where you live.
