Is Mounjaro right for you?
Mounjaro is prescribed for adults who meet UK licensing criteria for weight management.
Likely suitable if
- You're 18 or over
- Your BMI is 30 or above, or 27 or above with a weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes or sleep apnoea
- You've tried diet and exercise changes without lasting results
- You're able to inject yourself once a week (we'll show you how)
Not suitable if
- You're pregnant, breastfeeding or planning pregnancy
- You have a personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer or MEN2
- You've had pancreatitis
- You have type 1 diabetes or severe gastrointestinal disease
- You're taking another GLP-1 medicine

How quickly will I see results?
Most people notice appetite changes within the first two weeks. Meaningful weight loss builds over months — trials measured results at 72 weeks, and consistency matters more than speed.
Do I have to stay on it forever?
No. Mounjaro works while you take it. If you stop, appetite tends to return, which is why we plan maintenance and lifestyle support with you rather than just stopping.
Can I drink alcohol?
In moderation, yes. Alcohol can worsen nausea and adds calories, so many people find they naturally drink less.
What if I miss a dose?
If it's within four days, take it as soon as you remember. If more than four days, skip it and take the next one on your usual day. Never double up.
Is it the same as Ozempic?
No. Ozempic is semaglutide (a single-hormone GLP-1). Mounjaro is tirzepatide, which acts on GIP as well. In head-to-head trials tirzepatide produced greater weight loss.
