How it works
One hormone, done well.
Semaglutide mimics GLP-1, a gut hormone that signals fullness to your brain and slows stomach emptying, so you feel satisfied on less.
01
Fullness arrives sooner
GLP-1 tells your brain you've had enough. Portions shrink without the sense of missing out.
02
Cravings soften
Semaglutide dampens the reward signal from high-fat, high-sugar food. Snacking loses its pull.
03
Weight comes down
With the dose stepped up over 16 weeks, average loss in the STEP trials was around 15% of body weight.
Strengths
Five doses over sixteen weeks.
You start at 0.25mg and move up every four weeks to the 2.4mg maintenance dose — only when you're ready.

Your dose is set by your prescriber, not chosen at checkout. If a step feels too much, we hold there longer. Some people do well on 1.7mg and never need to go higher.

Good to know
Common questions.
Wegovy or Mounjaro — which is better?
Mounjaro produced greater average weight loss in trials. Wegovy has been used for longer and suits many people well. Your prescriber will talk through which fits you, your history and your budget.
How quickly will I see results?
Appetite changes usually show within two weeks. Weight loss builds steadily — the STEP trials measured results at 68 weeks.
Do I have to stay on it forever?
Wegovy works while you take it. If you stop, appetite tends to return, so we plan maintenance and lifestyle support with you rather than just stopping.
What if I miss a dose?
If it's within five days, take it as soon as you remember. If more than five days, skip it and take the next one on your usual day. Never double up.
Is it the same as Ozempic?
Same molecule, different licence and higher maximum dose. Ozempic is licensed for type 2 diabetes; Wegovy is licensed for weight management at up to 2.4mg.
